Julie Main is the President of West Coast Athletic Clubs which owns the Santa Barbara Athletic Club, Ojai Valley Athletic Club, Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club, and the Hills Swim and Tennis Club. In 1993, Julie turned her breast cancer diagnosis into a positive community effort, helping launch the Cancer Well-fit Program. She has served as a role model to other cancer survivors to use exercise to improve their own quality of life. In addition, she has inspired her peers by having a successful community-based program. For her efforts she has been honored with the 1998 President's Award by the International Health, Racquet and Sports Club Association. She is a past president of the Board of IHRSA (International Health Racquet and Sportsclub Association), was a past president of the California Clubs of Distinction (the IHRSA regional group), and served on the Board of Directors for the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara.


Paula Lilly, MA is a 1985 graduate of Texas Womens University. She took over the duties of the Cancer Well-Fit Program at the Santa Barbara Athletic Club (SBAC) in 1995,and has had well over 1,000 survivors come through her classes over the past fourteen years. She administers the program, and assists in research and publishing efforts. She also runs the personal training department at Santa Barbara Athletic Club. She is the president of IFORM-a private fitness practice in Santa Barbara, and is on the board of directors of Dynasen, an engineering corporation in Goleta, California.
